Graduated with Honors from the Sri. Gururaju Homeopathic Medical college, Gudivada, A.P, India in 1967 and joined the government service. Completed the mandatory rural service in the next 3 years. He was posted to the Government hospital at Hyderabad and began to teach bedside medicine to the students. Soon after was appointed as the research officer in the “Naso-respiratory allergy unit” set up by the government of A.P and contributed many scientific papers. He was elected as the secretary, A.P medical officers association and subsequently served as the president of the association. He is one of the founder members and a life member of the Indian Institute of Homeopathic physicians the only registered organization in India for medical school-trained Homeopathy physicians. Served on the editorial board of “The Rational Medicine” a bimonthly journal and contributed many articles. Appointed as professor and chairman of the Department of Organon and Homeopathic philosophy. He is on the board of examiners and is visiting faculty of Homeopathic medical colleges in the Indian states of Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra and A.P. Served as the Principal, Government Homeopathic Medical College, Cuddapah, India. Appointed as the regional deputy director in charge of administrative affairs of 4 districts of A.P India.
Dr. Prasant retired from government service as The Additional director, Indian Medicines and Homeopathy, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 2003 and now serves on the boards of several universities in India as advisor, examination paper setter and guide to the post graduate courses. He is a sought after Homeopathic public speaker who is called on to almost every major Homeopathic event in India. He spends all his time now in full time private practice at Hyderabad, India.
